Stefan Karanec

Clinical Director and Principal Physiotherapist

Stefan leads the team at Seven Hills Physiotherapy. He is passionate about providing you with the best possible care in order to help you achieve the results you expect. He 100% believes in physiotherapy and enjoys nothing more than sharing the joys of his patients when they get better.

His professional career began way back in 2004 after graduating from Coventry University with a Bachelor of Science honours degree in Physiotherapy. He immediately took up a rotational post in the NHS before being promoted to a senior role in 2006. He has specialised in musculoskeletal physiotherapy ever since. During this time he has been recognised as lead of rehabilitation services. Stefan was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to perfect his skills whilst working alongside world renowned physiotherapy expert, Kevin Banks for more than three years.

Stefan is dedicated to continually improving his skills and knowledge. He has years of experience using acupuncture as part of a physiotherapy treatment plan after gaining his qualification with the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists. He has currently completed the worldwide recognised International Maitland Teacher's Association (IMTA) level 1 and 2a qualifications. His goal is to qualify in the level 2b and 3 before moving on to the teachers qualification. This provides him with expert skills in assessment, problem solving and treatment of complex musculoskeletal conditions. His drive to be the best he can be to help you is reflected in the quality of his colleagues he has selected to help you at Seven Hills. Each physiotherapist shares his dedication to continual personal development to ensure you get the best quality of care possible.

Jodine Aplin-Ward

Advanced Physiotherapist in Paediatrics

Jo is the latest addition to our team. She has already proven to be a great asset to the clinic. Her specialist background in paediatrics has enabled us to offer a robust children's physiotherapy service. We now not only treat children with musculo-skeletal complaints but are able to offer rehabilitation to those children suffering developmental delay and neurological disability.

Jo qualified from Coventry University with a BSc Honours degree in physiotherapy in 2003. Since this time she has gained valuable experiences in several areas of physiotherapy including orthopaedics, musculoskeletal and paediatric physiotherapy. She has used her knowledge and skills in these three closely connected speciality areas to provide hollisitc care for her patients.

She combined her musculoskeletal skills and love of paediatrics to become the Sheffield United Girls Centre of Excellence physiotherapist. She spent almost a decade in this role providing injury prevention strategies through education, screening and strength and conditioning, injury treatment and conditioning, as well as pitch side first aid.

She has many years experience treating children in hospital, as outpatients, in schools and in the community. She now combines her role at Seven Hills Physiotherapy with part-time work as an Advanced Physiotherapist at Sheffield Children's Hospital.

In her spare time she enjoys nothing more than a game of tennis, keeping fit and travelling with her family.
